One of Only Six Congressional Candidates Named
St. Petersburg, FL - In response to Emily’s List designating Jessica Ehrlich as one of their top Congressional Candidates for 2014 and putting her “On The List”, Jessica Ehrlich released the following statement:
“I am proud to receive the support of Emily’s List and to be one of only six Congressional candidates to be designated as “on the list,” said Jessica Ehrlich. “After 43 years, Bill Young has lost touch with Pinellas County. Instead of looking for solutions to address wasteful spending, to invest in job creation and education, and protect Medicare and Social Security benefits, he votes repeatedly for budgets that do the exact opposite. I’m running for Congress because we need a representative who will stand up for the values of the people of Pinellas County. With the help of our supporters here at home and organizations like EMILY’s List, we will be successful.”
Being put “On the List” ensures support from EMILY’s List’s network of over two million members from across the country.
Jessica Ehrlich is a St. Petersburg native and a practicing attorney. Before practicing law, she worked in international business and finance at three Fortune 500 Companies. As an Attorney she has spent time on Capitol Hill working for both Republicans and Democrats serving as an aide to Representative Clay Shaw (R-FL) and Counsel to Representative Stephen Lynch and developed technology for Bloomberg LP to bring transparency to the legislative and regulatory process.
Ehrlich is an active member of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers and the Shorecrest Preparatory School alumni association, serves on the board of Ruth’s List Florida, is a national She Should Run spokesperson, and developed a college scholarship in her father’s name.

EMILY’s List Puts Six Strong Women Leaders “On the List”
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, put Ann Callis (IL-13), Katherine Clark (MA-05), Jessica Ehrlich (FL-13), Gwen Graham (FL-02), Eloise Reyes (CA-31), and Martha Robertson (NY-23) “On the List.”
The EMILY’s List community now stands more than two million members strong. “On the List” is a new way to make sure EMILY’s List members can engage with and support promising candidates all across the country even earlier in the election cycle. By putting these women “On the List,” EMILY’s List is ensuring that they have access to this powerful network of supporters.
“During the 2012 election cycle we elected an historic number of women to Congress because the growing EMILY’s List community invested early in races across the country,” said Stephanie Schriock, President of EMILY’s List. “Now it’s time to get involved even earlier in the campaigns of fantastic women leaders so that they have what they need to win, and get Washington working for women and families. Ann, Katherine, Jessica, Gwen, Eloise, and Martha, are all experienced public servants – educators, attorneys, legislators and small business owners – who have what it takes to fight back against the GOP’s continued War on Women, and tackle the nation’s toughest problems. The EMILY’s List community is thrilled to get involved in the early days of their campaigns.”
During the 2011- 2012 election cycle, EMILY’s List helped elect an historic number of candidates – the only pro-choice Democratic woman governor in the country, 19 new women to the House, six Senate incumbents, and three new Senators – all the first women to represent their states in the Senate. And this cycle, women we’ve helped elect include the first Hindu and first female combat veterans to serve in the House, the first openly gay Senator, and the first Asian American woman to serve in the Senate. With a community that has quintupled since 2010 – now more than two million members strong – EMILY’s List is one of the largest political action committees in the nation. Since its founding in 1985, EMILY’s List has worked to elect 101 pro-choice Democratic women to the House, 19 to the Senate, 10 governors, and over five hundred women to state and local office. In the 2011-2012 cycle, EMILY’s List had the largest number of members and donors in our 28 year history, and raised a record-breaking $52 million dollars.
