JESSICA EHRLICH ENDORSED BY AFSCME
October 14 2013
St. Petersburg, FL - The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees has endorsed Jessica Ehrlich, Democrat for Congress in Florida’s 13th Congressional District. They noted her commitment to fight for middle class families and work to end the paralyzing partisanship in Congress as a key to their decision.
“We are proud to stand with Jessica Ehrlich early in this campaign because she is a fighter who will work to increase economic opportunity for middle class families in Pinellas County. Jessica has already proven she is willing to stand up to Republicans in Congress who right now have shut-down our government out of spite. And Jessica will fight any efforts by the Tea Party to strip families’ access to affordable health care,” said Mike Ebersole, President of the People’s Chair of AFSCME Florida.
“I am proud to be endorsed by AFSCME. They have a track record of fighting for working families in Pinellas County and across the state of Florida. In Congress I will continue to fight for working families and ensure a brighter future for all of us in Pinellas,” said Ehrlich.
There are approximately 3,000 AFSCME members in central Florida along with AFSCME’s 1.6 million members nationwide. Their members make up hundreds of different occupations — from nurses to corrections officers, child care providers to sanitation workers — AFSCME advocates for fairness in the workplace, excellence in public services and prosperity and opportunity for all working families.
AFSCME joins the Teamsters, Laborers, United Transportation Union, Plumbers & Pipefitters and UFCW in support of Ehrlich for Congress.
A native of St. Petersburg, Jessica Ehrlich is a practicing attorney and has over a decade experience working in the private sector including three fortune 500 companies. Jessica is running for Congress because she is frustrated by the paralyzed partisanship in Washington that is getting in the way of creating more economic opportunity for middle class families in Pinellas County.
