Jessica Ehrlich Statement on 78th Anniversary of Social Security

August 14 2013

Today in commemoration of the 78th anniversary of Social Security, Jessica Ehrlich issued the following statement:

“Pinellas County seniors have earned Social Security, and they deserve to know their Social Security will be protected,” said Jessica Ehrlich. “Unfortunately, too many in our broken Congress are willing to jeopardize this important program for the sake of their dysfunctional politics. Balancing the budget on the backs of Florida seniors is not the right way to start cutting Washington’s reckless spending, especially while those like Congressman Young are willing to spend our tax dollars on handouts to the wealthiest few. That’s why I look forward to doing all I can to protect, strengthen and preserve Social Security for our parents and grandparents today and for the next generation of American workers.”
